Getting Started

When you have decided that you want to spearfish, either as recration or for personal gain, you should put your mind to it. It would probably be a good idea not to smoke. Finacially, you will need financial backing to use on your equipment. Equipment costs varry from place to place. here is a list of what you will need:

What You Need
A pair of glasses that are Tempered and have a manufacturer's guarantee .Don't spend more than $40-$50 on a pair with tube, the tube is better if you have a vlave on it.
Get sturdy yet flexible flippers with socks. Try to get some that measure from 60cm to a meter in length (24in to 40in).
A Knife is very useful at times but you won't need to have a knife bigger than 10cm (4in).
Bouyes are needed to hook your fish onto and ward off fishermen or boaters that you are in the vicinity
Speargun The best gun you can buy at the moment is the Cressi Sub Apache. Around 10,000pts. ($120.00). If you want to get a speargun go buy it at Cressi Sub, Nemrod and Safari Sub.
Wet Suit. Now this one is tricky, try getting a suit that fits your location. These are the ctaegories:
